Wolf Spider with young
This is a Wolf Spider possibly Pardosa amentata. They carry the eggs attached to their spinnerettes and when these hatch they stay with the mother, covering her upper abdomen untill ready to disperse. In this case this spider was photographed on a rocky shore at Fortrose on the Black Isle, Scotland. I was lucky to spot her movement and had to lay prostrate and follow her untill I could get a good clear shot when she paused in the open temporarily. Taken with my Pentax K3 and pentax 100mm macro lens, f6.3, 1/250sec, ISO 320, hand held usin elbows as an effective tripod (very carefully!).
